Network Engineer

Denver, CO          Full Time          Experienced

SUMMARY:

The Network Engineer is accountable for the planning, designing, building, and the support of Mile Hi infrastructure, ensuring maximum stability and integrity. Providing day-to-day support, administration, security, enhancements, escalations, and documentation through outstanding customer service and end user satisfaction in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(other duties may be assigned):

  1. System/Network Engineering
    • Designing and implementing new solutions and/or improving efficiency of the current systems/networks across the organization.
    • Installing, configuring, test and supporting all network equipment including router, switches, serves, firewalls  related to WAN/LAN.
  1. Support and Administration
    • Provide Level 2 and 3 support for escalations.
    • Aid with Level 1 support and end-user support including software installation, PC troubleshooting, hardware diagnoses and configuration and training.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex systems, applications, and network issues. Identify and help implement preventative measures.
    • Manage and maintain security/software/firmware patching for operating systems, system configurations, and overall network infrastructure.
    • Maximize system and network performance through ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and scheduling necessary changes.
    • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities within ticketing system.
    • Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and or on-call support as scheduled.
    • Create and maintain all technical documentation supporting the Service Desk along with developing training materials for the IT teams.
    • Provide support, training, and assistance for all systems to maximize efficiency & productivity of employees and business operations.
    • Participate in Change Management processes and procedures.
  2. Project Management
    • Utilize Project Methodology to create Business Cases and presentation to leadership for project approvals.
    • Create and manage tasks related to system/network projects.
    • Deliver Projects, on-time and on budget.
  3. Additional Responsibilities
    • Accountable for properly following all IT standards, processes, and methodologies as applicable including but not limited to Quality Assurance (QA), Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Occasional lifting 5 to 50lbs.
  • Walk up and down stairs (6-20) steps two to ten times per shift.
  • Walk from 15 to 100 feet two to ten times per shift.
  • Walk from Division to Division, which includes stairs and crossing streets which may have weather conditions present
  • Climbing up on 6ft ladders to adjust wiring when needed.
  • Able to reach, stretch, and adjust wiring from an elevated position.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS: 

  • Subject to travel 10%

  • None – Individual Contributor role

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Preferred Associate Degree or higher.

EXPERTISE:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with designing, implementing, and supporting VMware, SANS, Veam, Active Directory, Azure, TCP?IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing/Switching (VLAN), WatchGuard firewall, Aruba wireless, and technical support of related infrastructure.

Hours:

Monday – Friday: 8am – 4:30pm / Nights & Weekends during special projects

PAY:

$110,000 – $140,000/year DOE
